I quite like the Asda one. I know that's a tad boring, but I quite like scanning barcodes of items in my cupboard that need replacing.
I also have a voice recorder app. I'm very sad, but I use it to record #1 daughter when she starts randomly singing (she's only 3) so I can let her dad hear it when he comes in from work.
Mine is: Suicide? Help! This is a free app with links to help to different organisations if you are feeling down (not necessarily suicidal) and would like to speak to someone.
I have apps on my ipod. All free. The ones I use most often are Google maps - great for directions and even gives time of next bus if requested. Weather - set up as many places as you want to see 5 day forecasts.
Stocks and Shares - set up which ones you want to keep an eye on and Ebay - to see how stuff I am selling or watching is doing.
On the iPhone its a star gazing one, I love scanning the night sky and putting names to stars. I think it was either free or around 60p. I wouldn't pay any more than that for an app.
My Favourite is "Where's my Droid" If I lose my phone, I can text a password to my phone, it will turn the volume to full and ring (useful if it is in the house on silent) it will also send me a map of the location via Sat Nav.
Clearly you will need another phone to access this feature but these days when everybody has one that isnt difficult.
