Ann Bancroft, Arctic Explorer.
Alexander Graham Bell.
John Britten, Inventor.
Pierre Curie, Physicist (1903 Nobel Prize).
Thomas Edison.
Albert Einstein.
Michael Faraday.
Carol Greider, Molecular Biologist, awarded 2009 Nobel Prize in Medicine.

Yeah, but is it due to an illness or a disability?

I could understand you comparing two illnesses or two disabilities but the intended 'wit' in your comment was denuded by the failure to stick to one subject matter.
