Spending a couple of days in hospital following an operation - what do I need to take?

I think a couple of pairs of PJ's, wet wipes, squash, ipad and ear phones.

Any other suggestions?

I tend to take PJs for nights and lounge wear for day time, the change of clothing makes me feel 'normal'. A plastic bag for laundry. iPad, book, phone and chargers. Ear plugs as hospitals are flipping noisy 24/7. Basic wash bag. Good luck with your op.

In my experience private rooms offer more storage so don't worry too much about storage and space. I had a wardrobe, chest of drawers and a locker on my last visit to a private facility. NHS was just a locker and I was moved from pillar to post.

The anticoagulant pain lasts about ten minutes or so but it is not pleasant. The administering nurse was given my best Paddington Bear hard stare as she approached!

Not great as I am terrified of needles and it took 5 attempts to draw blood last week!!

I'd go with a load of wipes and a flannel, just in case you can't shower for a day or two after. Loose upper half clothing too if any chance of you being on a drip or anything like that so easier to try and get off and wash. Maybe some dry shampoo as well depending on how often you wash your hair.

If you are having your gallbladder out I'd go for nothing too snug waistband wise, especially if laparoscopic and allowing for the air to settle after and allowing for where the surgical openings will be.

Hospitals can be horribly hot too so depending so allow for that.
