.....but didn't get. I wanted a Melodica SO much, then my bezzy mate got one and wouldn't even let me touch it, let alone play it. What would you have loved, and have you since bought it for yourself ? If I ever see a Melodica for sale.............
Big Mamma I wanted one of them too, and one day I noticed in the TV listings a channel called Tyne Tees. My mum had a right job convincing me it wasn't all about the dolly ( I was only 5 ) We didn't get it in our area for her to show me either !
Philo, it's a green oblong wind instrument with piano key thingies on it ( theres one on the Sony Walkman ad, a girl is sat in an orchestra playing it )
Sooooo many thngs I didn't get! I wanted an A La Carte Kitchen (so I could make my mam breakfast in bed like they did on the advert), a Mr Frosty and a Cabbage Patch kid, which I wasn't allowed because my mam thought they were ugly - which I can now agree with but at the time, I was devastated!
I also want all the accesories to things like My Little Pony and Barbie but had to make do with one or two, while several friends of mine had the lot. If you had a Ken doll you were considered bloody spoilt but I'm glad now I made do with my brother's Action Man, much hunkier than Ken.
daffy, me too, helloo, i was in a childrens home for most of my childhood, i was sooo sad cos i never had a teddy,
untill i was seven, but when i got one it was the best thing in the world to me, now i collect special bears. : O )
I also wanted Evel Kenievel! my mother insisted that as I was a girl there was no way I could have such a thing.
Mind you I have recently seen some tv shows which featured this toy and it looked like you didn't get the stunt action out of it that the advertisers showed! that was money well saved then...
I also wanted a 'Simon' electronic game. They were way too expensive at the time so I bought one on ebay last year. It probably cost about the same...and I haven't had as much fun out of it as I would have done when I was little :o(
